Italian Sausage Baked Ziti

When you think comfort foods its hard not to have Baked ziti on that list. It's one of those dishes that come together rather quickly and develops even more flavors the very next day. (the best left overs trust me). Let's get cooking.

Making baked Ziti is super easy, we begin by boiling Ziti pasta any brand will do, its a one pot dish so that equals less dishes at the very end (you'll thank me later). In this dish I decided to go with Italian sausage although baked ziti can be made 100% meatless.

The Italian sausage can be replace with ground beef, turkey or chicken the flavors outcome will be just as good. Home made marinara would be preferable if at hand but hey no judgement here if you choose to go with the jar version, which is what I used and no one at home could tell the difference. Ha.

If you're looking for that instagram worthy cheese pull picture, you'll have to get down and dirty shredding your own mozzarella cheese. Packaged shredded cheese just doesn't melt the same its coated with cellulose to avoid clumping. your best bet is buy a block of cheese and shredding it yourself using a manual cheese shredder or a food processor. Keep in mind that shredding it while cold is less messier than when room temperature.

At my place we can't have baked ziti with out garlic bread, sometimes even white rice (carbs on carbs) I think its a latin thing lol but hey enjoy it with whatever sides make your soul happy. Let us know what you think about the recipe. Love you all, Bendiciones.
